SASS #31074
I was born in Cortez, Colorado and made my home in Mancos. My Grandma and Grandpa homesteaded a place south of Cortez.

I'm married to Steve Boyd and we have two grown children, Shaylie and Cole. We have one granddaughter, Shyanne who turned 4 years old in March 2011. We brought our kids up through junior rodeos. For three years (2001-2003) we put on gymkhanas for the whole family so that everyone could play together. We had fun doing it and the kids learned a lot from all the riding. We made a lot of new friends and we continue to have those friendships today.

Steve and I raise Appaloosa and quarter horses. We have cut down our breeding to only a few foals per year. That's plenty for us at this time. The two mares that Cole and I compete on are home raised and home trained. They are both appaloosas.

I have been competing in mounted shooting events since 2000. I trained Buttershot aka Lou for mounted shooting when she was four years old, although it took a few years to become a "good" mounted shooting horse. She is the horse Cole won his SASS National championship on.
